Education as a Brand Investment
BP and BPAMA join forces to offer business curriculum to BP Branded Marketers
Investing during the current climate has become a risky proposition for some businesses, but BP and its partner organization, the BPAMA, have today announced a plan to invest in their Branded Marketers by rolling out a course of studies focusing on the specific business skills necessary to successfully operate a Jobber business.
The Marketer Institute of Excellence (MIE) will present a wide range of courses with titles like Financial Strategies and Success with Dealers that will run throughout the year and across the country to make them accessible to the target audience. Both organizations believe that education will translate into a greater competitive edge for both BP’s marketers and the brand.
BP Branded Marketer Steve Uphoff, CEO of Uppy’s & Southside Oil in Richmond, VA, chairs the committee overseeing the development and delivery of the MIE.
“In today’s volatile and competitive retail market environment where the consumer is demanding quality products, convenience, stellar service and more than fair prices, the investment that Jobbers make in their training and education to stay on top of their industry game is pivotal in the big scheme of things! Jobbers must partner with their fuel suppliers to invest in the future through programs like BP’s MIE courses. With these courses, the BP Jobber can get their niche marketing advantage and help to mitigate risk, which puts the BP MIE Jobber out in front of their competition! The investment made is the investment earned!”
BP Products North America, Inc. currently contracts with just under 500 Branded Marketers in the US, representing over 10,000 retail sites. The BPAMA is a membership organization recognized by BP as the representative voice of BP Branded Marketers nationwide. The association works in partnership with BP to create and shape mutually beneficial programs and policies.
